We were able to meet with the inspectors today and then we were also able to meet with the director of the orphanage who gave his blessing for us to go see Stas tomorrow. So tomorrow morning, we get in the car and drive about an hour down to the Sea where Stas is at camp. We will also try to figure out where to stay down there as it would appear, we will stay there for about a week. Tonya describes it as a resort area but we are just a bit skeptical. I've seen what a "nice" condo looks like, what a "good" train looks like and I've tasted the "good" boursch here so I'm interested to see how "resort" is interpreted. .
We did see the orphanage today and it looks a lot like the other schools around here... very run down and old. The people that work there though seemed very nice and genuinely interested in Stas. Everyone here doesn't understand our reasoning for traveling across the world to adopt a little boy when we have three healthy ones at home. All we could come up with is that we love him as our own and they seem to understand that as they also see these children as there own. The inspector asked if we would like to adopt a 40 year old as a "bonus." My standpoint... not much of a bonus.
At this point, we don't see us being finished by the 27th and looks like it may drag into the middle of the following week. We'll know for sure by Monday or Tuesday as how the rest of this will play out.
So again - the good news is we get to see Stas tomorrow!!!
